Shouldn't this thread be a poll or sweepstakes? Whomever guesses closest gets a prize, eh? Of course, price may vary by jurisdiction. So, pick a value in Yen.

All that I ask is that it drives the K-5's price down to a number I can manage..

Exactly. I'm wondering about that too considering how much they want for the Q. I guess the Q is more of a niche product though, but then again, we could probably make the same argument for this new K-01.

I'm going to say $899 body only or $1199 with the 40mm. It shouldn't be more expensive than the K-5, but I can see it being more than the K-r. Especially since it was by a "famous designer" and you know how those type of things get marked up when a name is stamped on. Yuck.

It has to compete. The K-5 which is now $1,000 USD. Since the K-01 doesn't have a EVF it will have to compete with the Nex5n ($600) and the E-P3 ($850 w/ kit lens). So I would guess the body will be in the about $750 and with kit lens $1,000. The Q with kit lens is selling for $750.

Whatever it costs, it will be too expensive and people will refuse to buy it.

599 US dollars. Just kidding.

Realistically, probably $799 body only, $899 with the DA40XS. I can see the price being comparable to the Q's initial price.

It has to be close to the price of the K-R: what's the point of removing the mirror assembly, without greatly reducing the size of the camera, if not for price? $600-700 body only, $800 with a kit lens. Add $200 if it has a built-in EVF.
