And what button did you use to view the images on LCD screen ?
The triangle in rectangle button.

It looks like the Play and AE/AEL share a button, the Play being in blue. I don't know for sure, but likely you press another button to get the blue mode.

So they've taken a K5, thrown the mirror away and just made it permanently live view? Hope it's better than it sounds. Or just really cheap.

This could all start to make Pentax look very unfocused, with the K-5 being the only normal DSLR they make, surrounded by the fine 645D, the lacklustre Q and this box of weird with a name that makes it sound better than a K-5.

Not only that, they've gone back to the old logo too. It's not looking good.

But no viewfinder & no swivel screen = it's not for me.

I really hope they release a follow-up with evf. Give me a good enough evf and you can even remove the LCD entirely to make the thing smaller.

Exactly what I've been sitting here thinking. This is in no way a serious camera of any kind, with only a 640x480 screen to focus on. Anyone who has tried to use an LCD to focus in sunlight knows it's pointless, and if not impossible, at least much slower to use than any kind of viewfinder is.

I can see a surge in sales of at least one accessory though....

Of course even if it is an odd camera, they just need to provide clean uncompressed HDMI out and it will fly off of the shelves.

Yeah, or these:

But if you're going to add that much bulk just so you can see to take a picture...

Just colour me unimpressed. As soon as I saw them playing up the "designed by..." crap, I knew they were trying to compensate for something. Who cares who designed it, a little signature plate on the bottom of the camera is just fluff. Being able to see to focus is kinda important.

I can't play video back on my k-x. Unless that's what it does on the k-5 too?

It has the button that has the symbol for play, but not the text for it. I automatically assumed seeing "play" meant "play video".

Unless there is playback on my k-x and I am a stupid person for not finding the option
You can play video on the K-x.

1) Press the "play" button & navigate to the still shot of your video, as you would in reviewing still photos.
2) Press "OK".
3) In the lower right corner you'll see the 4-way ring of buttons on the rear represented on screen. The button that corresponds to the green arrow is the self timer mode button. Press the self-timer mode button to play the video.

Incidentally, though it may be a very good camera, I'm not crazy about the looks of the K-01, either. Maybe it just looks weird with the pancake lens. Guess I'm just an old fart traditionalist. ;-)

Cheers,
Bobbo :-)

It smacks of a desperate attempt to jump on the mirrorless bandwagon but totally miss the point by having none of the size advantages. It's only ever going to be smallish when used with a pancake. And then it'll only be smaller than a K-5/7/r by about a viewfinder-worth. But of course they couldn't come up with yet another mount because they already have the 645 and Q.... oh dear.

On the other hand, if it's a massive failure, it'll become a memorable 'designer' product and they'll have lost very little money on it.
