I think the camera turns into a pumpkin or FF at midnight.

Newsom should've developed a new font for Pentax, too

The 'K' seems to be more an icon than a letter.... I wonder what the significance of that is? Looks like a lens and a sensor back.. lol. Hmmm....

I may have missed something but that [family] picture doesn't have any FA LTD lenses depicted - I assume this new camera has no screw drive for older lenses as a result.

There plenty of lenses in the [family] picture that are screw driven lenses, the vast majority in fact. At the moment there are only 7 Pentax lenses with built-in motors.

I see a "B" on the mode dial, indicating Bulb mode, i assume which is good
Just hope the bulb mode isnt time limited to 15minutes like the Samsung NX cameras are!

Well, the pre-release comments said most lenses. Of the current lineup are any of the pictured ones those that work on FF cameras?

..glad you liked my edit by adding [family] ;-)

Maybe I need new spec's but it's hard to tell what;s in that small picture apart from the larger Tele's...

So will this camera have a screw drive?

Maybe the K-01 doesn't have the SDM contacts.

Seriously :ugh: I was only kidding hence my smiley qualification . Some of you guys should grow a sense of humor.. Or just stop quoting others that do out of context. ( I hope that was enough smiley content to get the message across)
When one keeps being sarcastic, like nearly always, folks have difficulty seeing it.

As for the smiley's - nope, because I have no sense of humor.

Well, considering only the DA* lenses and the 18-135 have built in motors, I can't imagine the camera wouldn't have a screw drive. Without it, none of the DA limiteds could (auto)focus

Then everyone with a busted 16-50 or 50-135 would rush to buy a K-01 to use the screw drive of their broken lens

I was excited about this announcement, and I dig the camera, but...

LCD only? Meh.

By the button layout (red button?) it seems like a K-mount video camera that just happens to take pictures. A big fail for any photographer, though.

You seem to confuse sarcasm with a healthy skepticism but rest assured I'll make no more blasphemous statements and hence forth stay 100% OT. "This statement has been officially smiley delimited"

Thanks, I had forgotten about the non DA* lenses that aren't FA*.
