Latest C1 (v6.3.2+) has very good Pentax DNG support. (I tested it on K-x DNG's & K-5 DNG's).

I like that the K-01 software bundle now includes the proper Silkypix Developer Studio, which seems an upgrade to the Pentax Digital Camera Utility 4.* that's there for the K-5 etc.

I hope it isn't 'locked' to just working with images that have 'K-01' in the EXIF, however. Would be hard to integrate K-01 into your imaging workflow if it was restricted like that.

It has a shutter. See The Camera Store's video of it - upon activating the shutter button, you see the shutter cut across the sensor.
Take a look at the 1:27 minute mark of the video. Just as he removes the lens, the sensor is fully exposed.
Add static, dust, wind or smoke into the mix, and somebody is going to be kept busy cleaning the sensor.
With proper technique, contamination can be kept to a minimum. Anyway, it is a pre-production model, so who knows.
It one of the trade offs I suppose.

the new lenses do work on DSLR, and will sell for $249 separately apparently when it's released on it's own

PENTAX - smc PENTAX-DA 40mm F2.8 XS Lens

based on this if they do a 21 and 70 variant they would likely sell for 300-350 or so, which would give the trio maybe a 999 set price. or a special edition of the camera with all 3 for christmas say with a price of 1699 or less.
Well, I seem to have read something quite the opposite in the spec release here.

Overview:
  • 16.28 Megapixel sensor from the Pentax K-5
  • K-mount with same lens support as Pentax DSLRs (all manual lenses OK!)
  • New Prime M image processor!!
  • Improved video: H.264 format and 30/25/24 FPS at full HD, 60/50/30/35/24 at 720p
  • Shake Reduction, Dust Removal
  • Mirrorless, no optical or electronic viewfinder
  • Compatible with all Pentax DSLR accessories
  • Same battery and charger as the K-5
  • Exclusive design by Marc Newson
  • New HDR and scene modes
  • 81-point contrast-detect autofocus (for comparison, the Q has 25 points); selectable points
  • TTL metering system
  • Dedicated AF assist light
  • 3 available colors
  • $749 body only, 699 euros/$899 w/ kit lens (tentative price)
  • Available on March 15

The new dedicated SMC Pentax-DA XS (extra slim?) lenses will only work with the K-01 and are specially designed for it by Marc Newson. The kit lens is the DA 40mm F2.8 XS, which is a unifocal lens:

Same here. These things must be getting stolen before the he can deliver them.

I can just see in my mind the UPS delivery truck being hijacked and K-01's being carried off by the dozens...

I own 3 Micro Four-Thirds cameras that expose the sensor in the same way. I've changed lenses in the city, in the country, on the side of the road, indoors and out. Never had a speck of dust on an image.

Yes, that has been discussed at length elsewhere but there is a clear statement on several of the Pentax websites now that says that the XS lens will work with all Pentax Digital SLRs. What I found on the Pentax USA site says:
"PENTAX KAF mount is compatible with current and past K-mount compatible cameras."
