Early K-01 Review

An early review would be great, would help decide how my Pentax dollars will be allocated. Thanks.

Would love to see an early review. Especially if it has some real info on the video mode.

I am starting to sound like a broken record but:

Does it have clean HDMI out (No overlays)
Does HDMI out preserve all current settings (Shutter Speed, Aperture, ISO, etc)
Is it 4:2:0, 4:1:1, or 4:2:2 ?
Is it 8 bit or 10 bit? (ok I know it is 8 bit already 10 bit is dreamland)
Does it use Lineskipping or Pixel Averaging?
What bitrate is the h.264?

Yes please - would love to see an early review!
(not a fan of facebook either)

I like the idea of a small capable camera but will have to figure out:
* Is it much smaller than my k-x (size is one of the reasons I went with the k-x)
* Is it good enough without a view finder or would it drive me crazy
* Battery life?

Adam,
You can tell the Pentax folks that you are meeting with that the forum is really going crazy over the K-01 unlike any previous release.

The Q was announced in June 2011
The K-01 was announced yesterday

Q forum total posts: 2992 in 7 months
K-01 forum total posts: 1618 in 4 day

Seems like a slam dunk to me. Now, where is that hands on, actual photos from the camera, review?

I'm a K20D user.
Been thinking about an upgrade to K-5, but with K-01 coming out...

K20D + K-01 or sell K20D and go K-5...I'm torn.

A review would be great.

believe me, K-01 can not replace the K-5.

What do you use it for? Stills? Video?

If you want to go into video, maybe just get the K-01 and have the K20D.

In all other cases, I'd still go with a k-5 for now. To me, the K-01 is the video mirrorless that supplements the k-5.

Believe it or not... k-5 or k-7 design is a level by itself.... no other DLSR can match it.

I suggest that you go for the k-5, even if it is just for trying it.

Yes give a hands on with samples, both with kit Lens

and with legacy glass.

Particularly regarding focus in common indoor light

I forgot to say . . .

. . . that I'd like a review as soon as possible. This would help me make up my mind between the K-01, the Olympus OM-D and the Canon G-1X. However, I suspect that the OM-D is going to be over-priced and will deselect itself.
