Chimneyless K-01

I really do not like the new K-01, especially that chimney or whatever it is underneath the dial. Made a few touches in PS and here's what it looks like without it .

You did a better job than that "designer" they paid for. Looks much better.

Well, it certainly looks more standard.

I like the chimney, makes it sort of unique! Could I have my chimney back, please

Now that you're at it, what about designing in a viewfinder?

Better imho. It still stands out with that cool logo and silver elements on top, but this I can't make fun of. As it stands though, I hope they find a way soon to scale down Santa so that he can climb down the chimney into the mirrorbox so the photons flying through there will get their Christmas presents.

+3000 for chimney. It is one of the most beautiful parts of whole body. And I amm not joking.

I like it without the chimney! (I hated it on the Q as well.)
Plus, I'd prefer top plate in silver with silver dials, or top plate in black with dials in black.

I'll take what you've done here, David, along with dropping the popup flash and just having the flash hotshoe on the flat top of the camera.

Agreed. That bulge doesn't belong there.

Send that to the guy who designed the K 01!
No, wait ! Send it directly to Pentax for crying out loud!

While some like the swollen bit on the top part of the K 01, I prefer your rendering, as long as it would not take away anything useful that could be underneath.

Great redo. Keep the flash hump and add a port for an optional EVF like Olympus and Panasonic.

So with complaints about it looking boxy... peoples desires to remove bumps and other bulges from the camera are turning it into even more of a brick...

Excellent.
