Suddenly sensor overheat stopped being a problem?

Well, I don't get this part very well, the K-01 will have the same sensor as K-5, which heats up pretty fast when used in live view mode. If the K-01 will only rely on live view, how much can one expect to use it before turning it off and waiting for it to cool?

I'd venture a guess there's a technical reason for the aluminum body. Aluminum is a very good conductor of heat.

The K-01 will double as a nice hand warmer in winter then, and explains why magnesium alloy wasn't used. It will be a good match with metal Limited lenses against condensation. Now this is an unique selling point!!

Maybe all that extra room from K mount allowed some extra heat sink fins inside and attached to the aluminum body.

Maybe that new "Prime M" engine has something to do with power optimization. *shrugs*

Specs say that movie recording time is limited by file size, not overheating. Around 25 minutes. Better than Canon, but GH2 is better still - it can record and span files.

Good point, however it's the same sensor used in NEX-5n and it seems to be doing great there so hopefully there wont be any such issue here too.

We just had the coldest night in over 25 years overhere, so heat is no problem!

Just came across this old thread. So why do DSLR sensors overheat, and mirrorless not? (Or I assume that the sensors of mirrorless cameras don't.) What's the difference?

Has mostly to do with sensor and processor. The K-01/K30 processor and sensor are much better optimized for shooting video, and yields far superior live view performance. The K5 sensor is not designed to dissipate heat as well. The extent of resulting compromise for still photography IQ does not appear to be much at all, so a job well done. Just a matter of more modern design. If anything, mirrorless on its own should overheat more easily because of constant use of the screen.

Well yes, although P&S digital cams have been going for a decade now and overheating has never been a prominent issue.

Yes, that's my point. And it's amazing how many people you see with their Canon DSLR's using live view all the time, just because that's what they are used to. That must mean that the overheating issue has been conquered. Perhaps, as you say, it is a matter simply of design so that the heat dissipates better.
