This setup isn't possible on the K-01 for practical reasons - the HDMI port is on the right-hand side instead under the shooting hand.

it has an hdmi out port.... as do many other cameras and d-slrs... there are pro evf's available (Zaccuto) and companies that make accessories will surely come along with consumer models....

The HDMI port location applies to HDMI EVFs as well - the shooting hand is in the way of the cable/port.

Plus the port cover would be open as well interfering with your grip anyway. Using a larger monitor like in the previous image probably wouldn't be as much of an issue with the camera mounted onto some sort of harness with separate grips anyway.

Your argument is a logic fail... everybody I've seen shooting video with d-slrs and 4/3's that goes to the trouble to mount evfs, mics and lights has used a bracket and or a steady cam/tripod/shoulder rig to hold the camera.. so who really cares where the ports are as long as they aren't on the bottom where your tripod mounting plate is?

I've got a number of toys I'm looking forward to trying on the K-01...

For video, yes. For stills? Maybe for tripod shots or tripod macros. Otherwise, not so much.

Probably not so much - the HDMI port is at the bottom of the right side of the body.

And there are all manner of right-angle and flat mini-HDMI out plugs and cables that would easily sneak out from there without obstructing your hand-grip.

And at only 3X the cost of the whole K-01 camera ... I'll take two!!!
