Forget the EVF. It's the lack of articulating LCD that makes it less than appealing.
This.

Anything novel to have kept it from being a "neutered K-5 for rich children"

the EVF mirrorless K will be the GXR-K. They just really need to update the GXR's EVF when they release the K module.

By the way, EVF is harmful for eyes.

this idea is an urban myth

focusing too long on one thing can cause eyestrain but i doubt anyone's camera will be against there eyes anywhere long enough for it to be an issue. and it could just as easily be an issue with a rear LCD then (or your monitor when you are PP)

Sitting to close to a TV in the 60's before they recalled and repaired a design error could expose you to too many xrays, but after that the main danger would be if you sat behind the tv for really extended periods. the demise of CRT eliminated this completely

I think they are probably working on a MK2 gxr with better lcd and some enhanced features and a Mk 2 EVF if a no brainer. A full af K module for the GXR would be very cool I think (pretty big though the reg distance will make it quite bulky) Reality is currently a MF option exists since you could just use a M to K adapter on the module so there is no rush for them to release one

There are no rules that say the GXR has to be small. I'd like to see a second, bigger body that would pair better with a K-mount module, and also a FF K-mount module if that is in the pipeline....

that would be an excellent idea. It could also be a Pentax branded variant (in fact since Pentax has the greater market awareness and distrinution it may actually make the GXR concept more successful since more people will be aware of it - personally i think it's a brilliant idea) since they are the same company now with 2 brand strategy. there is nothing to stop them from sharing tech and ideas

Think it's worth it's own thread: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-k-01-forum/174998-gxr-k-real-mirrorless-k-mount.html

I put in my $0.02 there FWIW (the design i propose will never happen though but it would be very interesting and really takes full advantage of the concept)
