How quiet is the K-01' shutter? Can we turn off the sound of the AF confirmation?

This is my first post to the forum.

I am seriously thinking about the K-01 to replace my x100 (personal reasons- manual focus and sticky shutter blade problem).

I like to shoot street, high ISO, in the evening with my subjects unaware that I am photographing them.

That being said, does anyone know if we can turn down or mute the K-01? I hear it has a quiet shutter but loud beepings can gather unwanted attention at times.

Here are some examples of the style I shoot: South Korea in Black and White - a set on Flickr

Off hand, I am also considering the RIcoh M-Mount.

Yes, you can turn off all the beeps. (p-186 of the K-01 Manual). And if it's shutter is as quiet as the K-5's, it should be very quiet, especially given the solid body of the K-01.

After switching off all the sound effect, K01's shutter is definitely slightly quiter than K5's. But you really need to test them out side by side in very quiet environment to find out.

I've never owned a K-5 but I've heard their quiet. The two main things I dug about the x100 was the high ISO and how super silent it it can be. I'd like to try to find another camera that can replicate that to a certain extent but with a real option for manual focus. I've turned all the beeps off on my K5 and really haven't found a need to turn them on again for the last 2 weeks.

Nice street shots by the OP by the way. The other thing you might want to turn off, for low light work, is the focus assist light, if you want to be stealthy. You can do that on the K5 so i'm fairly certain you can do it on the K01 as well.

If one really wants to know how quiet (or noisy) the K-01 is, I suppose there is a way.

The iphone has a free app that measures the sound level in dBA. One can put the iphone on the table, use the remote shutter function of the K-01 to activate the shutter and see the dBA recorded.

I used this to measure (indicatively of course) the sound level of an AC system in a room (say a conference room) and it works okay. Nothing scientific of course

One last request.
Could someone who gets the camera tell my off hand how silent the camera can be if I just use MF and turn off everything? It seems like it would be up pretty close to X100 (well maybe not but still).
