K-01 Viewfinder?

I'm afraid I'm going to to miss a viewfinder this summer, when using my K-01 for holliday shots.
The K-01 hasn't got a viewfinder. This is a big problem. When the sun shines, I'll certainly be in trouble.
I wonder if Pentax will make at hot-shoe viewfinder for the K-01+
Or perhaps a collapsible shade for the back side screen.

(My got old Lumix DMC-LC5 has one - even though it also has a viewfinder:
Panasonic Lumix-Dmc-Lc5 Review: Features & Controls
The shade can be mounted in the tripod "nut".

(Very nice 4 MP camera, BTW - excellent for students, 'cause the shutter speed and aperture is shown on the screen) )
A simple shade like that should cost no more than 20 USD.
Are you listening, Pentax?

Regards
Jens

Curious - why would you get it if you knew using it was going to be a big problem?

Well, to continue the tradition of people with names starting with J answering this thread...

A few people are saying that they aren't having troubles with the K-01 in bright sunlight. Is your post based on experience with the K-01 in your region? What conditions are making it tough to see the screen?

I am astonished at the number of members with 20 posts who joined in 2008 who feel compelled to make negative comments about the K-01 - before they've (or we've) even tried it. I will know by a week from today whether the "full-sun" issue that has been raised with such a roar (before anyione even used the camera) is a real impediment to using the K-01.

Maybe he didn't see that it was going to be an issue until he handled the K01?

I got a whole lot of cash that says there will be a ga'zillion "wtf" post's about the K01 when users figure out they can't consistently shoot sports games with predictable results with it

Next topic: K-01 for birders - preferably with that new 560/5.6, hand held.

Well I have to score somekind of viewfinder to attache to the back. I guess it's even possible to work with DA*300mm on a monopod with that combo holding it very steady.

Original Poster
I ordered this camera for three reasons:
1. Big sensor compared to other compacts
2. I can use all my Pentax lenses (guess I own 50 or more original SMC Pentax lenses)
3. Very good low light/high ISO camera (I suspect). I rarely use a flash for snapshots. It annoys people.
If it had a viewfinder, that would be the fourth reason
Number five and six would probably be the burst shot - and the HDR options.
Number 7 must be the boxy design, which makes it perfect for mounting in panorama heads/nodal point adapters.

After all - the K-01 seems to get 6 out of 7 of my wishes right. That's not too bad :-)
If there were no K-01, I'd probably buy a Canon G1X. (Don't want changable lenses, if they're not K-mount lenses)

Look at this shade, please:

Links for such accessories for th K-01 will be very welcome ...

Jens

A friend sent me these cut-scenes from the movie "The Adventures of Tin-Tin". There is a scene where they used those old cameras and my friend find this amusing as they look like mirrorless cameras

I thought this is interesting too as people have been saying that the K-01 lacks a OVF/EVF and it is a deal breaker...here we have the earliest "mirrorless" cameras also without any OVF/EVF and people have been taking pictures happily.

Time to reflect upon the past perhaps

Just a thought.....
