Originally posted by Anvh Doesn't sound like that's the problem though, it's the long focus throw. How does it work with other macro lenses?
I have every existing production macro lens; which unfortunately does not include the 200. My present listing includes the; Pentax 100mm f2.8 w/r, Sigma 24mm f1.8, Pentax 35mm f2.8, Tamron 90mm f2.8, Sigma 70mm f2.8, Sigma 17-70mm, and my personal fav - the (d)FA 50mm f2.8. I've also never run into the problem.
Although while using the K-01 the focusing does take the longest (ironically) with the DFA 50, and almost as long with the Sigma 17-70. Not sure what the reason is for the 50, but for the Sigma it most likely has something to do with the aperature range - which doesn't suprise me. I usually have one of these two lens' on the camera all of the time as a type of replacement for what some would term as a basic lens.
Also looking forward to both the Sigma 150 and 180 macro's if they ever do come out. Not sure if their sdm will be of much help though
The camera clicking along just fine after some well over 3k pics; in all types of conditions. I even like it significantly better for video (with upgraded audio) than even the K-5, but have yet to compare the video to the K30. Plus zero sensor burn issues as some have noted with the K-5
