How to get a K-01 to freeze

I found a bug in the FW. This happens every time with my fa 200 macro macro- as soon as you get it to hunt for more than a few seconds, you're toast.

Have you found it with any other longer lenses?

Luckily I've only experienced this with the 200mm macro, but it happens every single time. I tried a selection of popular lenses and fortunately, the bug wasn't there.

The FA*200? Heh, the lens is just too overwhelmingly awesome for the K-01...

Wow, well something to fix. But I don't think it will be the only thing to fix. There is a reason why all camera makers these days present lots of firmware updates.

Interesting finding!
Dear Adam, could you please tell me the version of the firmware using in your K-01? Thank you!

All production K-01s are running 1.0.

Doesn't sound like that's the problem though, it's the long focus throw.

How does it work with other macro lenses?

Yup, it's the 1.0 firmware. I also tested the camera with the dfa 100 macro, fa200 2.8, fa 80-320, da 80-200 2.8, fa 50 macro, and da 50-200 but wasn't able to reproduce the problem.

One other issue I noticed, though, is that the camera turns longer lenses very very slowly. This is already being mentioned in our review

Battery out (for at least 3 seconds) - happen(ed)s with the 50~135 so not sure if that is a case of just sdm or what, also I use 1.03 fware (so could be fixed with latest fware) on k5 not updated to latest because of latest fware break yongnuo flash (well, causes it not to work). Brought it up though in this thread as I was under the impression that the entire underlying software/algorithms were redone with new in the K01.

Oh the joys of being the first on the block to have a new camera. Well at least we know that Adam is doing a great job on putting the K01 through a wide range of tests. I noticed the Steve Huff was able to freeze his K01 as well., not sure what he was doing that caused the problem or if he has been able to duplicate it. I'm sure the next firmware version will be out pretty soon. Keep up the good work there Adam.
