This is a statue made in 1931, by an artist whose name I forgot to write down or take a photo of. His name is carved into the base of the statue.

It's located in Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York. ::Planting Fields Foundation::

Most people, upon seeing it for the first time give an "Oooh! or Ahhh!"

Ancient Greece in my backyard.

K-01 with Takumar 150mm f4.0 @ f4.5. I love this lens, although you do have to walk back a good bit to capture a full-sized portrait.

Edited in Lightroom and in camera pastel effect added.

Mike

Great detail and texture...the more I see from those Taks the more I like their rendering.

I look forward to your shots!

Here are few I took today. First one with the DA21 and the other two were with the DFA100 Macro WR.

I like that incense shot...took a second for me to realize those were buddhas standing in the background which is what makes it cool!

Nice reverse macros of those hibiscus stamens....very sharp and fine detail.

Had a quick moment to try out the 15mm this morning....among other things it has great close focus abilities. I am very glad to have this lens back!

Thanks! I wanted them to have purpose and meaning for being in the shot while still being somewhat separated and abstract at the same time.

Hi all. Been enjoying shooting macro (which is completely new to me) using my poor man's macro set-up: Tamron Adaptall 35-70/F3.5 (17A) + 2X doubler (01F). This combo give me a 140mm lens with 1:1.4 macro - not quite 1:1, but good enough to have some fun and (IMHO) get good results. Plus, I love the colors!

Here are a couple using the Tokina 28-70 AF "Macro" -- it's really a close focus, rather than a true macro, and these are about as close as it will focus. Both photos are crops.

First one is honey bee on blackberry blossom.
I'm not sure what flower the second one is. Can someone identify this flower?

Managed a macro tonight. Tried to go a little abstract with it.

Like the train platform shot; excellent composition with reflections of all three subjects also on the train windows. Nicely timed shot.

Thank you! Glad you like it...in the circumstances it was quite a hard shot to get right using a slow-ish manual lens (even one as good as the Takumar 35mm f3.5) - its great to get your feedback.
