From my last trip.... the first picture is Brian, who went with me on my most recent "photographer's trip". He's shooting a D800 but hey, I can't depend on Pentax to bring me customers.

All images K-01 and DA 18-135.

Although not as big or as exciting as Supercon was in Miami last month my brother and I stopped by FCE in Melbourne to support a friend and get some shots. It was a good time overall and it gave us an excuse to check out the local Zoo.

So tonight I returned to one of my favorite photo spots to take more flower pictures! I can tell you are all trembling with excitement.

I took along my K-01 with my Helios 44-M-4 which I ended up using exclusively this evening. I just can't get enough of that lens for flower pictures. The rendering and bokeh are absolutely fabulous, IMHO.
I'm starting to like the potential those helios lenses have with regard to flower photos...you guys got me considering giving one a shot.

Tree and Cemetery.
I like the look of the sky in the first photo...but I keep thinking of "Children of the Corn" when I see it.

All my own personal favorite shots with the Helios 44-2 have been of flowers. I think the pronounced bokeh on this lens gives a very painterly rendering that lends itself well to subjects such as flowers or anything that has strong abstract elements. I am also quite interested in investing in the Helios 85mm f/1.4 but unfortunately that is a substantially more expensive lens.

Thanks! Those two shots have been getting quite a lot of attention.
