You guys are really making great images with the K-01. Impressive!

The image quality of the K-01 is superb producing high quality photos. I love to apply its strengths to astrophotography. Here is the results of 1,260mm telephoto @ f/6.3 using ISO 400 and 1/500 second exposure.

Wow! That looks really great!

I look over here very so often, you guys have some very excellent shots posted...some amazingly good!
If the K-01 just wasn't so damn ugly! Can you picture it in a Fuji X-body...maybe one with a viewfinder? It would sell by the millions!
Yes, I know, beauty is only skin deep, but the K-01 has some thick skin! Sorry, I'm not being very polite I know, but I do wish Pentax would make a camera that had some real sex appeal in a mirrorless camera that produced results as good as you guys are posting here.

Regards!
I actually am not a big fan of the Fuji look. I know people went wild over them, but the whole retro thing just doesn't do it for me. As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Made a nice picture tonight of a Burning Man memory, and then took a shot of the lens I used, for good measure. Both are retro for me, in a way.

The memory, shot at f/8 with my 50mm Macro-Tak f/4 M42

The tool, also shot at f/8, but with my DA21mm Limited.

The fujis look alright to me but its the pentax limited lenses that I wanted to retain when looking to move towards a smaller kit. I took a chance with the K01 and it didn't disappoint and I actually like its looks (it gets a lot of compliments) plus its relatively comfortable to hold for someone like me with big hands. It's a lot of camera for the price, so much so that I got 3 of them.

@nightfly ...that is a stunningly detailed photo.

@Rondec brilliant colors and tones and a great image as usual.

I'm not gonna lie, the K-01 is one of the ugliest cameras I have ever seen, that is just my take on it, I know. However, if you go through this thread, you will be damn hard pressed to find shots any better from any camera.....some are just stunningly beautiful!

I suppose it is like having a fat ugly wife that is a fantastic cook with a great personality, sort of like my aunt Bessie was. I wouldn't have traded her for any gorgeous model on earth!

Best Regards!

The K-01 has a great sensor. Basically, it is the equal of the K5 when it comes to being able to get detail/dynamic range out of an image, but in a lot smaller package. Awfully handy for sticking in a hand bag, when I don't need an SLR. It still has plenty of weaknesses. Auto focus is not the best and continuous auto focus doesn't even exist, frame rate is very slow. But it is very rewarding when you get the images home to work on.

Insect season is almost over... Went for a walk around a local lake (Lac de la Sauvagine) yesterday with the Tamron 90mm Macro and a few other lenses. Could almost have only brought the 90mm.

Backlit dragonfly macro

The K-01 is a great camera. I don't get to use it enough. Sorry, for the messy background -- must clean kitchen window! Afterwards, I realized I should have shot some video. You could actually see the muscles/internal organs moving around, which is kind of neat.
