Hey did you just recently pick up that 31mm? Nice lens, that is the one and only FA limited I intend to get...just got to pay off our yearly property taxes first though :-(

Yes, it arrived on Friday from Adorama. The 31 completes my set of FA Limiteds. Didn't think I'd manage it by the end of the year but somehow I did.

Just picked up the 77ltd for the K-01 and hopefully can find a used 43ltd for a bargain basement price soon...

Thanks BJ! Had to think long and hard about the 31. I definitely want it but it was certainly a fair chunk of change. Still not 100% sure I'll be keeping it especially if other unforeseen costs pop up this Xmas.

I think you will absolutely love the 77 especially for portraits. I don't even look at my DA70 anymore after getting it. I managed to snag a mint MIJ with original pouch and box recently from a forum member for under $700 shipped so I feel pretty good about about that one. I just need to shoot more portraits with it.

I use the FA 43 a ton and it tends to be my go to lens for conventions since I rarely have the room to backup to use the FA 77. A great lens that will always be my first love among the FA Limiteds plus it is noticeably more compact than the other two (the 31 is a beast in comparison).

Lucky you

. It does take a bit of a bite on the wallet so no way I can swing that by the end of the year with all our other expenses and holidays coming up etc... but I've got a plan. However what I need more of is a bit of patience

Hopefully that lens won't make me want the 77mm too.

Quick question: All new 31mm are AIV only, is that correct?

That is correct. A total non-issue now, though. There was some sample variation in early Vietnamese production, but that's water under the bridge.

OK thanks. Yeah honestly I haven't looked at this in much depth yet since it will be a little while till I get one of these for myself. However I know that the MIJ vs AIV issue with regard to FA ltds is a very polarizing one at times for a variety of reasons but I myself am not interested in any reason that is inherently subjective and will only be interested with any objective reasons if they even exist.

In any case that 31mm should be interesting to use on the K01 since as demonstrated by Vincent's "Country Road" photo above the K01 has the potential for an amazingly subtle dynamic range.
