Thanks! Yeah, a coworker/buddy of mine inherited a bunch of Minolta gear from his grandfather recently and since he has zero interest in photography he just gave it all to me. I figured I'd try to get some use out of the film body if only for a prop. I hear the Rokkor lenses are pretty decent as well.
While I was working for them, they came out with the XG7- an innovative, plastic bodied... turkey. Lol, I still remember some of the letters from owners, after several warrantee repairs, like "I am surprised it didn't explode in my hands". But they got it right with the next model and generally had great stuff. Minolta made their own glass back then, including the coatings. Here's an interesting blog about the old Minolta stuff. A lot of the old Rokkors will work on Sony Alpha bodies.

I took a look at the links. Some interesting stuff in there especially about that 85mm Varisoft lens and the 135mm STF. I'm always on the lookout for quality glass that offer unique renderings.

Took this abstract today with the FA31.

Thanks! I used a manfrotto LED with a warm gel to go along with the sunset feel and help balance the exposure.
