Hello, everyone.
Here are a few images from a model workshop I went to the other day.
1.) Taken with the M 100 Macro. My first portrait with this lens. It's ever-so-slightly out of focus, but that's my fault. Models usually hold a pose for a few seconds; if you miss it, you miss it. They will repeat a pose if asked, but sometimes they don't know exactly which look you want them to repeat. Art, not science. This model was Tabatha.
2.) Also taken with the M 100 Macro. A little better on the focusing.
3.) Taken with the DA70.
4.) The second model, Melissa. Also taken with the DA70.
5.) Yours truly in the mirror. Proof I do own a yellow K-01 and a green Bogen tripod.
A word about model workshops to those who have not been to any.
Model workshops are usually semi-hectic to completely hectic The photographers and models are usually in a room about 20 X 20 feet, and some over-anxious or first time participants can forget that there are other photographers right next to or behind them. There is a good degree of bumping into, and crossing in front of your neighbor. For this reason, if you're using a prime lens and a tripod as I do, you can't always get the composition you want in a shot, so you have to take what you can get.
If you hire a model separately, it's much more expensive, but you then have freedom of movement, and the model's complete attention.
My first workshop in a few years.
Mike
