Finding peace.
K01 and DA 50 1.8 shot wide open.
I like the shot, but the bokeh for some reason feels distracting.

Maybe it's just me.

I think the bokeh looks good - as in, its not edgy and has rounded shapes. Remember, he's pretty far away from the subject, so there's a fair amount of compression going on between the subject and the background, leading the background to look fairly detailed.

Edit: actually, the more I look at it, the more I like it. There's enough detail to give the shot a sense of place, but its soft enough - and the colors of the model contrast enough - for there to be a good amount of subject-background separation.

Maybe it's just me then, something about it just doesn't sit well.

Thank you so much.

Since my k5ii is in the shop for who knows how long, I'm shooting the K-01 exclusively. Here's some macro of salt I did for a local camera club challenge. The theme was "Things that start with the letter S". Both were shot with my 55mm Super Tak reverse mounted on my 105mm Super Tak.

Testing my newly acquired K-01. I have some familiarization to do but I like it!

Used my 35mm Macro for both of these shots.

Another macro shot with the K-01. Looking up the stalk and into the inside of the cap of a shaggy mane mushroom.

The Pentax K-01/DA16-45mm/AF-540FGZ combination makes your subjects look their best, even when they never look good!

Not enough to be exclusive, but I like it.
