really nice. I like how the cruise ship is just breaking the horizon line.

have you considered a square crop?
Thanks John, a square crop? No never tried one of those, let me play around in LR and see how it goes

Edit:
Quick and dirty crop, what you think?

After my first real day of playing around with my K01, more than 100 shots later, this was the only one I'm really happy with. Ah well, always learning...

The LR editing has helped a lot, the air looks much clearer. Regarding the crop, I hate to be an Internet critic, but I think placing the horizon right in the center of the square crop would be nice. The photo has a nice abstract quality to it, but placing the horizon on the lower third pushes the viewer to see it as a traditional landscape/seascape photo. Placing the horizon line in the center rejects that standard composition and pushes the viewer to see it more abstractly. That bouncing between abstract and real is what I find interesting, but it could just be me. I could be wrong - it's happened once or two million times before.

In any case, it is a nice shot. I'm really just picking nits here.

Putting the new K-01 through it's pace at last. Did some brief comparison with my K10D (not shown) to see if the image felt any different, but I couldn't tell the difference honestly.

All you K-01 owners are knocking it out of the park.

Since my K-5 is at CRIS being repaired (stuck mirror/shutter), all my recent photos are with the K-01.

These might not be out of the park, but at least they're not strikeouts:
