Local covered bridge.
All shots with the 40mm XS, K-01 on a monopod.

Nice shots. The K-01 w/40mm XS lens really delivers on the reds. Question...........was SR turned on or off when you took these shots.

Thanks Jim!
I did pump up the contrast a bit.
On a tripod, I use the 2 second timer and that shuts down SR, but didn't turn it off for the monopod shots.

I have owned the K01 for 2 days, and am just getting a feel for it.
First serious shot with the DA40xs attached. Some cropping though.

I like the look of your shots, Nick.

They have a painting-like quality to them.

I'll have to try changing the ISO on my camera, and see what I get.

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks Mike!

About the drawing-like look, it's the most often fortuitous than intentional, but indeed it seems to happen at high ISO, in a highly contrasty scene, and when shooting wide open.
A slight misfocus can help too

Got in the Pentax DA fish-eye 10-17mm

Got today the fish eye and only used it for some minutes at the exchange place. It is secondhand, but (almost) never used at a real bargain.

Seems like a good lens. I have an older manual focus Sigma 16mm f/2.8 that I like very much but don't use too often.

I have the Samsung-badged version of the 10-17. It's reputation as a "purple fringe monster" is deserved, but it's a fun lens, and quite compact for a fisheye - about the size of the 18-55 kit lens.

I like the first one because I'm in to abandoned buildings. The second one is beautiful processing. Good work.

Went to the March Air Museum today. It's only a half hour from the house so if I walk outside and the sky interesting and I have nothing else going I head over there.

I was surprised to find out a 747 Dreamlifter was heading in when I got there. I don't know why it went to March Field but I captured the taxi after the landing. Shot on high speed continuous and proof that you can pan with a K-01.

The next 3 are all HDR. Usually I like to avoid the over processed HDR "look" but I thought this shot called for it. Russian MIG19.

MIG 17

F86 Sabre

Another view of the Sabre. It was around 77F today so the snow on the mountains in the background won't be there too much longer.

These and a couple more in my albums are all I had time to process today. All HDR and tone mapping done in Machinery 2.5. It's a great program for natural HDR but is a little slow. Hope you enjoy and feedback is appreciated!
