That shot is just too darned nice. The clarity and focus is hard to believe. Best of all, you did it with an old manual lens (or so I assume) and focus peaking.

These are beautiful Kyle, the first one in particular. Love the colour and clarity and of course the beach!

I used the DA 55-300mm at full zoom. Auto focus was sluggish but accurate. The photo was cropped from landscape to portrait orientation.

I'll be adding some more to my Album as I process them.

Incredible resolution; so much so that - if the ankle band had been facing the other way you proabably could read it in an on screen (monitor) image.

Just for curiosity, what is the subject of these wonderful photos? Burned out Antebellum mansion or something?

krugorg, great photos of the ruins. Did you use the HDR mode on those?

I took my K-01 down to the pond this morning with an S-M-C Takumar 50/1.4 to see how well I could focus it in the bright Florida sunlight. Focus peaking is harder to distinguish when the sun reflects off the LCD screen, but it is possible. Unfortunately, I wore a white shirt, which also reflected off the screen; I recommend wearing a dark color when using the camera. Anyway, I was able to focus well enough.

You are close (I bet style was very close) - it was a church in South Carolina... built in the mid 1700s, burned by the British during the Revolutionary War, rebuilt in the early 1800s and then burned by Sherman's Union forces in 1865. I guess they decided not to give it a third go.

Thanks! It is a great area... I could see spending a weekend just shooting in Savannah.

No, these were single exposures that I ran through Nik Silver Efex. I do mess with the tones and detail a bit. I did try the built-in HDR function, and it worked better than I expected, but the K-01 raw files are so good, I don't really feel the need to do it much yet (I am coming up from smaller sensors where I used HDR quite a bit).

BTW, impressive shots, especially with focus peaking in sunlight!

K-01 | DA40/2.8 Limited

Well I guess I waited too long to go out. Not enough light.

Had a chance to get by Multinomah Falls with my K-01 and DA 16-45. I'm on a trip right now so I had to process the RAW file using a sloooow, old, low res macbook, but I think it turned out well.
