It is a great lens and pairs perfectly with the K-01.

(15mm shot -- cemetery flowers).

The invasive Anolis sagrei, commonly known as the brown anole...they're everywhere here in Florida.

Checked out the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary in Jupiter. Mostly an excuse to play around with my DAL 55-300. Was a little tricky to get sharp shots through the chain link fences and the lighting conditions were not too great either.

Also stopped in Downtown Stuart on the way home from the Wildlife Sanctuary and thought I'd grab a couple long exposures.

Couple of photos from New Zealand

Had to go to New Zealand last week for work.
Took my K-01 with 18-135.
Not much time for photography, but managed a few shots during early morning walk in Napier.

Trees and the Sky (I just bought a DA 40 for use with my K-01, so this is trying it out).

Nice shots Vincent, your DA 40 seems to work well

I am wondering about possibly adding the 55-300mm to my kit for times when extended range is important...does it work pretty well and fast with the K01? I did a quick google on that location...looks interesting and I will make it a point to check it out next time I am in Ft Lauderdale. If ever you are in the Tampa area the Lowry Park Zoo is noteworthy check out my album to see how close you can get at 135mm (done with a k5 and da*50-135mm earlier this year)...imagine with 300mm.

Indiana has some amazing summer storms and consequently cloudscapes...I drove through there twice from Chicago to Tampa both times during the middle of such storms and I kept expecting to see some tornados You make good use of the landscape there with the 40 and 15...I find the 40 to be very fast and accurate on the k01 and capable of very sharp results. I had the 15mm several years ago and now that I am using the k01 I am pondering getting it again since I really like these limiteds on this camera.

My amateur shots with K-01 18-55 DAL and 40 XS

Pardon me with my version of "best" photos, just started learning photography and decided to take the brick as my first weapon. Never unsatisfied.

Might seem too soft but this is taken with 18-55 DAL

Taken with 40mm XS, yes that's my dad.

with 40mm XS

All images no PP.

Hope you like it!

Overall I like the DAL 55-300mm. I think it's a pretty good value for $200-250 and it works decent enough on the K-01. AF is a tad slow at times but I was expecting that. Really interested in a 300 or 400mm prime. Maybe one of the older legacy lenses. I don't mind manual focus since the focus peaking works well. I may check out the Lowry Zoo if I am ever in the Tampa area.
