Lovely shots, everyone! Just to demonstrate the K-01 in a couple of high-contrast situations: an overcast day with a brightish sky - the sun occasionally breaking through.

Every March the herons return to the same few trees on the edge of Stanley Park to begin their courtship & mating rituals. These nests are only a few hundred meters away from one of Vancouver's most densely populated areas (the West End). By my count there are 9 herons in this shot.

The other photo is the top corner of the venerable Sylvia Hotel at English Bay beach.

This is a very deliberately over processed image from a K-01 DNG file. It is not HDR but is a single image that I pushed and tweaked quite a bit to see what the RAW files from the K-01 could handle. I'm sure the files could be pushed more by someone with more experience as well as a better understanding of image processing than me.

Here's the processed image,

K-01, DA 16-45, ACDSee Pro 3

Here's the original image as opened in ACDSee Pro 3 and exported to jpeg without any processing whatsoever

What's the score of the AA filter on this Camera? I'm sure that almost all the shots I've seen are crisper/sharper than the K-5 shots online here. It may well be just the DOF and the refined focus that the Peaking method helps achieve though. Or maybe there is some contrast processing at work... I wish I could handle one locally and run a few shots to one of my cards.

Break in the rain for an hour. It has been over 80 degrees all week but we can have a freeze as late as April 20th. Weird sequence of greening and blooming before the birds are back.

DA40 Ltd. Hand held. Neck strap braced kneeling. Focus Peaking QuickShift touch up rather than moving the focus point in menu.

That actually looks pretty good.

I'm embarrassed to say that I went looking for the mini filter and couldn't find it. I feel rather dumb.

When you see the photo you want in the Play menu, press the WB button and access the Digital Filter, then it's on the second line, furthest right (with the mini car icon!) - press info to play with the settings.

I'm actually surprised with the amount of "editing" you can do in the digital filters!

Thanks -- I hadn't even found the filters there, and I've read the manual!

I haven't found this too bad in good lighting. It focuses faster than my Zuiko 50mm with adapter on the EP3.

Having a lot of fun with the K-01 and, especially, the 15mm DA. Sorry in advance for the heavy processing on the following image, but I am loving how much I can flog these RAW files (coming from smaller sensors). =)
