1 Hour Photo.

This building was originally built for a 1 Hour Photo shop but it went out of business before I moved to town 10 years ago.

I am still doing a lot of rural landscapes and decay with the K-01... the FA 31 has been pretty much permanently mounted.

catalogue work

I used my K-01 with DA*55mm again for some catalogue work for a jeansshop. Everything under controll and the flash with a radiotrigger.

The K-01 is a very capable camera for this job. All in 16mp three star jpg to have the working done easy.

Geranium Johnson’s Blue

Used the K-01 on a tripod for the first time and focused manually with the assistance of image peaking and magnification. The view screen is much easier to use on a tripod than a viewfinder would have been. I forgot to turn off image stabilisation but I think I got away with it.

Today I visited a training from Sharona bakker, 100m hurdles atlete, in her preparing for the upcomnig EC Atletics next weekend. This is an image coming rom a portrait of her preparing for wich I did some stills and some video. She became rescently Dutch Champion, but the European competition is a lot harder.

Took the K-01 down to the Jumpship bike comp we had in Victoria this weekend. I have to say that I really like using the K-01 and if I had to choose between it and my K-5 it would be a tough choice. These shots were taken with a M135/3.5, DA40/2.8, and 10-17 FE.

Looks like the K-01 is doing what it's supposed to do for everyone! Like the wide range of topics that we choose.

Here are a couple...the wide angle was shot with the 15 Ltd., the solitary bloom was the FA*200 Macro. Shot many more with K5 and used the K-01 for a backup and for video.

IMHO if Ron Boggs judges the K-01 worthy that settles the argument.

Wow...I've never been the "final word" on anything before (and probably only one of many "final words" on this topic). I like the camera very much (other than the flap)and have adapted to full-time Live View fairly easily--other than in full sun.

Added a K-01 to my kit for the better video encryption than the K5, but I'm liking the stills very much too. Mid July while coaching at the U.S. Junior National wrestling event, I'll video hundreds of matches while coaching with the K-01 and 15 Ltd. combo on a tiny little table top tripod at my side. Wide enough to capture the action without ever touching the camera other than to turn it on at the start of each match and off at the end. Perhaps not the artistic "proof" the camera is capable of, but the value of a camera is in its usefulness for tasks photogs undertake. It isn't about specs or reaching full capability of the equipment. Sports photography is only a very tiny part of what I do and the K-01 should be just right for the video task...

Ron, it isn't so much a "final word" statement as it is an endorsement from a dispassionate tool user - which should be the real endorsement of a camera. I judge you (based on your comments and our interactions over the years) to be a pure tool user, which is why I made the statement I made. After all the angst last winter it is really nice to see that, one by one, discerning users are finding the K-01 to be a pretty darned good camera after all for their specific uses.
