Yep...mostly. Sorry to perhaps under appreciate your acceptance of my opinion. Flattering really, and I guess there has been some skepticism of any of us playing the "early adopter" role. My interests are utilitarian that's for sure. But I am a deep Pentax fanboy too. At least fanboy for the specific pieces of equipment that perform for me. Not afraid to dismiss items that just don't work out.

Of course it's OK to raise an eyebrow and be skeptical of any equipment item...but it's also OK to embrace or at least flirt with any new item too. I'm really not even interested in the whole viewfinder discussion...just want to make images.

K-01 does a fine job of imaging and has me playing around in different ways...shoot stills, bracket white balance and exposure, dial in composition and focus (bracket focus peaking) on-tripod and then hit the video button for the finale. Or do "extended arm" wide angles from ground level...I'm enjoying it and shooting publication quality work when I make the right decisions.

Thought I'd post this, taken with the DA 21mm. I really took this not because it's anything special as a pic because I wanted to show the resolving power of this combination, which works very well together, and the K-01's control of colour, noise, DR and so forth, and of IBS. This was taken hand-held in natural light, 1/8 sec, f5.6, ISO 400, -1 EV to RAW and developed in Lightroom. There are a lot of mirrorless cams out there but I don't think all that many could match this result hand-held at 1/8th. The venue is Keble College Chapel in Oxford, a masterpiece from the Victorian era. Did I miss a viewfinder? For this kind of shot, nope, not at all. In fact not having a camera to my eye gave me a better sense of interior space and how much of that space the camera was capturing.

I had to take 30 to 40 to get this one...

Used a single element lens and the K-01

I'm trying to find some people to shoot. Can't find any one as yet. So shoot flowers or bugs.

Togs are like termites. Just as termites eat wood...togs must shoot pix. The only question is what wood will the termites be eating and what pix will the togs be shooting?

So I like to use my FA31mm and DA*55mm as favorites on my K-01. The 40mm (Ltd) is a little small for my likings and the FA*85 already a little big.

With FA31mm set at f1.8

Good to see how you handle your K-01! Using your thumb for pressing the release button.
