That last one is interesting in how the Extract Color filter (or I think that's what you used) made the subject B/W and the background color, instead of the other way around. No fair still having green trees!

Thanks. I just desaturated pretty much all the colors except for green which I over-saturated for emphasis. I often make the subject B&W and the background color, just a personal stylistic choice. I've always felt a strong affinity for the power of monochrome and isolating colors.

Nice shot, did you shoot RAW or JPEG? Because if you shot RAW you should be able to pull out some detail in all the vegetation and still keep the dark shadows, the DR on the K-01s RAW files are really nice. I've done a couple of landscape shots of vegetation with the sun behind it and was able to get the details saved and it came out quite nice...

I shot RAW and the original actually had quite a lot of detail (was only 4 in the afternoon) I just decided the make a stylistic choice for more visual impact. Was really more into the shapes and shadows than the fact that I was taking pics of vegetation. Never really been one for nature or even landscape shots but I agree that the DR on the K-01 is great and I've taken advantage of it on a few occasions. Still getting the hang of LR4 so I'm sure when I get better I'll look back on some of these compositions and wonder what I was thinking. At which point I may come back and revisit them for anther go around. Thanks for reply though!

You're not allowed to use this excuse anymore when you own a K-01 or a Q, since they are small enough to take them everyday

K-01 with FA 28-105

My FA 28-105 seems to have gotten a new lease of life - seems to work much better on K01 than it did on K20
