Nice photos everyone! Julie, I really like the old camera shot taken with your new camera! Congrats on your K-01! Had to test out today's craigslist buy. 30 bucks for a clean ME Super (not needed), Ricoh 55mm f2.2 (not needed), and a Pentax M 135mm f/3.5 (needed for my 01 and my Q, once it arrives) Oh, and a funky fake leather case from the 70's or 80's. Stopped at a park on the way home to test the 135mm.    | |

I've yet to hit the 500 shot mark, but I must say I'm very impressed by the picture quality of the K-01 + kit 40mm pancake, and learning to "zoom with my feet" has been an interesting adventure so far. We've had a lot of snow lately, so here are some early outdoor favorites (straight out of the camera): Locked Behind Bars:  Winter Refuse:  And an evening shot with an inexpensive 28mm/F2.8 Vivitar lens, stopped down to F13 - 1/15s @ 6400 iso!  As an aside, anyone know how to get portrait shots to show up in the correct orientation in a member's album here? For some reason they all show up as landscape... | |

I finally got out to shoot some decorations. The lens is the (in)famous Cosina/Tomioka 55mm f/1.2, rumored to contain actual pixie dust, if you can just figure out how to invoke it (not saying I have, but I could hear it jingling in there ) | |

I don't have a K-01 photo to post yet, but yet is the key word. I bought a K-01 this afternoon, mainly because of all the great photos and reviews posted here, and the fact that the price is too good to pass up in my opinion. Have any of you noticed that the price dropped another $2.00 US from $316.95 to $314.95 in the last two days? Two dollars shall not a kingdom ruin, but it may be a sign that the camera sellers are trying to make this model too attractive to pass up. The battery is charging, and I'm reading up on some of the basic operations as I write this. I blame everyone here for posting such good shots, and making me buy one!  I'll post a photo or two as soon as I have some. Mike | |
