The standout image in this series for me is the B&W bridge. It must have been a "fairly" long exposure to get star bursts like that as well as the dramatic range of tones on the bridge. I've looked at this image several times yesterday and today and when I see it I think of the movie Sin City...very cool. I like how the guard rail draws you to the bridge and for me if I scroll down the page just barely enough to cut out the moon, which tends to lead my eyes up and away from the bridge, it becomes ideal. Well done!
Thanks! I appreciate you taking the time to write out why you like that particular shot the most. The FA 43 seems to handle star bursts and lens flare very differently than my other lenses (more dramatic), must be the coatings I guess. I may edit out the moon because of your post in an attempt to make a stronger composition as I agree that the moon is distracting. Thanks again, oh and I love Sin CIty (looking forward to the sequel)!

You're not the only one and actually what I should have said is it would be even more ideal along with cutting out the moon if Jessica Alba was leaning on the guard rail where it curves into the bridge ...cheers!

Spring evening, sitting on the deck, sipping bourbon on the rocks, and playing with the DA 55-300 on the 01, set to MF.
No great shakes, but it was fun using focus peaking to isolate the emerging river birch leaves.

Spent the late afternoon and evening at the McKee Botanical Gardens in Vero Beach which had a nice glass art display and at the Sebastian Inlet State Park. Got to play a little with the DAL 55-300mm and came away with a few shots I liked. Also got to use the Bulb function for the first time to get a 48 second exposure.

Thanks, LeRolls. No, actually the lens is an old K-mount Atan Macro P-MC Zoom 28-70mm f/2.8-4.2. I've never found much about it, although it and it's big brother, the 70-210 f/3.5, has been discussed a little in Off-Brand Lens Club threads. All I've been able to find out about it is that it was made in Japan (perhaps by Komine or Cosina?) for distribution by a Denver optics company. The same lens apparently was branded by Access and Soligor. In fact, KEH has this lens, brand unstated, for sale cheap right now.

Mine doesn't have the best contrast in medium and distance shots, perhaps because the rear element is slightly pitted like someone set it down lightly on sandpaper. But as you see, for 1:2 closeup work it's pretty sharp and clear. In PP I did add a little contrast, and some sharpness after I reduced the size.

Excellent shots LeRolls, marvincfs, robtcorl, goldenarrow, Mike Bokeh, NickLarsson, nparsons13, and salagubang. Here is one cross posted from the post your photos thread from the K-01 at dusk. I was trying to find Comet Panstarrs while at Bryce Canyon, but had to settle for this shot of the fingernail moon and plane.
