I'm just starting to get a long with the K-01. Didn't like it at first, but it's starting to grow on me a bit.

Lovely and clean shot! I like the contrasting colors as well as the dark shadows versus the bright areas. Which lens?

Somehow I had a feeling that was the lens. Probably going to be the next limited I add to my collection. Oh, and you're welcome.

Such a great camera and great examples uploaded by many PF members here. @Kyle509, what a cool looking location where is that...I always think of forests when considering the Pacific NW? I definitely regret selling my copy of the 15mm but I have a Vivitar 13mm that should be delivered sometime today that I got as a deal I couldn't refuse and will be trying out first before I make the leap back to the 15mm.

Here are a few taken in our garden a few days ago.

Plumeria buds

Crown of thorns flowers

Culantro flower

Mud dauber wasp

Pattern on an asian flower pot

Thorns

This is from the Palouse region of South Eastern Washington State. You might be familiar but if not, it's a dry farming area with rolling hills that but up against forested hills/mountains in Idaho. To the West of here is a mostly flat landscape of sage brush and high desert before reaching the "typical" looking Pacific Northwest area.

Nice photos, love the Plumeria buds shot.

Really great shots! Especially the Plumeria buds and the Culantro flower. Love the crispy detail and DOF.

Ok so it seems that you are in a valley between the Cascades and the Rockies...seems like an excellent location to live and photograph and no wonder it serves as a farming region considering the fertile ground there gets the benefits of mineral deposits freed up by the erosion and runoff of two great mountain ranges. Thanks for the info and for looking at my photos!

Thanks for the encouragement! I have a bit of free time now that the semester is over which helps flatten that learning curve and I'm planning to take a little outing perhaps on Friday to test out that Viv 13mm f2.8 lens that arrived yesterday. It seems to be an impressive piece of glass but can't compare to the size and weight of the da 15mm which like all limited lenses seems ideally suited for the k01...anyways I'll give it a chance to see if its worth giving up the 15mm's compactness. I have no doubts on the Viv's image quality however based on the examples I have seen here on PF.

Took my K-01 for a walk before Vivid Sydney officially starts, they have put up quite a few light settings already, most were shot with SMC Takumar 50 1.4, the one with the piano was shot with K50 1.2

All great shots, I particularly like the point of focus and the clarity of the glass on the snow globe photo...the hulk one is pretty cool too.

Thanks dude! I almost got the Tamron 90 but ended up with the Pentax 100 instead since I got a pretty good deal from one of the member here.

Here's some of my shots from the day. Just kind of roamed around the downtown for an hour.
