Nothing renders color like vintage Pentax/Takumar glass and contemporary Pentax technology, IMHO. Nice work elpolodiablo!

Here's some of my shots from the day. Just kind of roamed around the downtown for an hour.
Nice DOF work in the comic book store set.

Quite a variety in your downtown walk around. Well done!

Somehow I missed these...very nice photos I agree that the rendering of color by this Tak is great and the bokeh is nice as well. I like the lighting and color on #s 7 and 8.

I almost got the Tamron 90 but ended up with the Pentax 100 instead
The Pentax 100 macro is also a sweet lens, I had the DFA WR version a couple of years ago and later sold it due to lack of macro shooting (of course I regretted that decision as well) but last year I got the Tamy in like new condition as a local deal for a ridiculously low price and am just now really starting to experiment with it and the K01 makes it a joy to use. I like the bulb shot btw.

Wow!

Absolutely lovely bokeh, Lukinosity.

I guess it's true what they say about those Super Taks.

GDA13, I love the tones in your black & white shot.

The Rhodora is peaking this weekend here in Maine.

Loving the Takumars on the K-01 after getting my M42 adapter. The marriage of classic glass and modern sensors.

50mm f/1.4 SMC Takumar @ f/4

Love the bokeh on that Tak shot. I think I'm going to have to get around to trying one out...I like the handling of the SMC A 50mm 1.7 that I recently picked up but I am not a big fan of its bokeh rendering and I can see why people knock some points off this lens for that.

You guys are killing me with that Tak 50mm 1.4's bokeh! Guess I'm going to have to learn how to meter with this type of lens...hope the curve is not too steep.

I've said here a few times, that I use a tripod for most of my shots, and that I've always loved photos that look like paintings.

The K-01 excels at both of these preferences. With its focus peaking, it was made to be used with a manual focus lens, and with its many digital filters, ones imagination is truly the limit with this camera.

I saw these brightly colored glasses (they're actually plastic) in my local supermarket, and thought they'd lend themselves well in a colorful scene.

Here they are with minimal props at their side, echoing their colors.

Both were shot using my Lensbaby 3-G @ f2.0, then the pastel digital filter was applied. A marriage made in heaven. Previously, I had trouble focusing my Lensbaby at f2.0 (wide open) or at f2.8, but with focus peaking it's much easier.

No, you can't have the banana - I ate it!

Mike
