I went on a trip to visit my friend who is living in san diego. Took my k-01 and my 85mm 1.4 that I am totally new to. I haven't really gotten a chance to use this lens much and I am still learning how. Both my friend and his GF are familiar with dslr's but not manual focus lenses. This pictures were snapped by the 3 of us while I was in town for a few days. We had a ton of fun. The videos are the best part

wow , the pigeon-in-flight pic is awesome.
What lens is it exactly , could you provide a link to a review of such a lens ?

Hello, everyone.

By chance, I happened to overhear someone say where and when our local car club meets, so I went there.

Here are a few results.

Yes, the last two photos are of a 1939 Cadillac!

Enjoy.

Mike

The lens I used was the rokinon 85mm 1.4

I buy my lenses on amazon bc they get to me inside of 2 days
Amazon.com: Rokinon 85M-C 85mm F1.4 Aspherical Lens for Canon (Black): ROKINON: Camera & Photo

The review found on this forum is of the samyang version. This same lens is sold by a few different brands globally but optically it is the same exact lens and they all are around the same price.

It's a great lens! I have it as well and find it to be quite sharp especially for the price. Wish it had AF but I guess that's what the focus peaking is for on the K-01. Would probably use it more if I wasn't so in love with the Limiteds.

I've had my K-01 body for a few weeks now; just starting to get a chance to play with it. In comparison to the K-x that I own, I'm blown away by the quality of photos produced. I tend to be sticking to a Tamron 28-75 f2.8 on the body, but spent some time with a DA*300 yesterday morning (with & without a 2x-a Takumar TC) to get a feel on a tripod ... and it felt surprisingly comfortable. I'd probably have dumped my K-x if I could get over the lack of a viewfinder & the 1fps RAW speed ... otherwise, I have almost no complaints.

Today I've done a shoot with models at a Harley motorclub. Lots off fun, and also learned a lot. Only used my both K-01 and FA31mm and FA*85mm lenses.

K-01 + 70mm the yellow rubber K-01 is now grungy from all the use it has taken.

Very nice! I hear great things about the FA 85. If I didn't already have the Rokinon 85 I'd seriously consider trying to get one. I definitely need the FA 31 though.

Some shots I liked from Supercon in Miami. Everything with the FA43 under very poor lighting conditions. Was shooting mostly at ISO 3200.

I also have a color version of this one but just thought I'd try for a glamorous look.

K-01 goes micro

The K-01 is the preferred beast for photomicrography--Live view is its way of life, and it is light on the microscope. And it makes terrific videos too! Found this guy in some stagnant water. The set up is as follows: K-01, lens removed; screw-mount adapter; Asahi Optical Microscope converter; trinocular microscope with dedicated camera port and adapter. This is at 100X, live mount
