keep up the good work on those K-01's.....
a shot I took tonight of my nifty-fifty lenses.
the FA31 would not auto-focus this close but I was able to manual focus using the focus peaking on the K-01.

The K01 has fewer shutter actuations for its age than any other K-mount body I own, but I think I have found its niche in my stable. Several of my friends are cutting stones and making jewelry, and have asked me to take photos. I am still watching videos and learning, but that means leaving a camera body in the setup. My setup for small objects is also difficult to use at eye level, so I use an external monitor.Not having a mirror is a plus.

If I were going to make the K01 perfect I would have some way to change the battery while it is on a tripod. I would also have its HDMI function like the DSLRs from K5 on, allowing use of an external HDMI monitor instead of its cheesy RCA video adapter that bends. I also find focus peaking less useful when there are lots of gem facet highlights. However, I'm pretty happy with it. Anyway, here are some of my better results so far.

Not a photo by the K01, but of the K01 in its new home. This is the setup for the necklace and rock below taken with the K01. I took the shot of the studio with a Sony A6000, and the flash triggered the snooted Alien Bee set up as a slave to be triggered by the softbox. I am still playing around with the lighting and focus stacking.

I'm really having fun with this camera for jewelry. I have ordered an AC power supply, since it is impossible to change the battery while on my sturdiest tripod. 24mp would be nice, too.

Thanks, LeRolls. The textures did show up pretty nicely after bw conversion

Feels like the K-01 thread has fallen on bad times. I guess all the good deals for K3 have dropped the number of users down. I still use mine a lot as a second camera when I go out shooting. It really doesn't disappoint.
