Lately, I've been wanting to create still life shots different than the usual bowl of fruit, so yesterday I tried.

I love my Lensbaby for still life shots, so I got a few props together, and this is the result.

The EXIF is incorrect, the lens used was my Lensbaby 3-G.

The props were simple:

A bottle of cherry liqueur, a Venetian mask, and one of my mandolins: a Puerto Rican Cuatro.

I am not a good player, but rather, a collector.

Window light from the left.

Then, I processed the image in camera with the K-01's digital filter. First, posterization, then the pastel effect.

Lensbaby set at f4.

For an hour's effort, I'm pleased with it.

Mike
Wonderful piece of artwork!

Thank you very much, TaoMaas, and luftfluss.

This image would not have been possible without my Lensbaby.

Hence, I will begin using it more often.

Don't you just love old English words?

Love this thread so much, it always makes me proud to own my brick.

Cross-posted from the M club, this was with the M135/3.5 lens (one of my favourites). F8, 1/200s at ISO400.

how well does the K-01 hold up near these misty conditions?
I was far enough away that it really wasn't all that misty so I had no problem with my K-01. On an aside...this is a natural swimming area that is over-run with people from about April-September. We went in late October after all the kids were back in school and it was too cold to swim. We had the run of the place to ourselves and admission was half-price.

I thought it would be fun (but maybe only for me!) to post pics that were each taken with a different lens.

Went for a walk around the Sheffield General Cemetery today. Closed in 1978, today the cemetery is kept open by a trust who have allowed it to age and overgrow while keeping the paths clear and the buildings standing. It makes a lovely, peaceful place for a photowalk.

I took the DA50 along and I'm glad I did. I took a Nikon F80 full of HP5+ with a 28-80 Zoom Nikkor on the front to do my wideangle shots and focussed on just getting the right ones with the 50mm. I don't use this lens much but I need to take it out more. Its rendering is beautiful and it has that real 3D fairydust rendering, especially in full size photos (I'm concerned web size might not do it justice).

Anyway, here they are:

f5.6

f1.8

f3.5
