Yes, XPRO is pretty big, especially for an APS-C mirrorless.
Even the full-frame Leica M9 is (slightly) smaller than the X-Pro.

What's that glass thing on the upper right of the Fuji?

That sir, is the optical/hybrid viewfinder.

Fujifilm X-Pro1 Hands-on Preview: Digital Photography Review

"The X100's signature optical/electronic 'hybrid' viewfinder is retained, and to help cope with interchangeable lenses it now offers two magnifications. At its lower magnification (0.37x) it covers the field of view of the 18mm lens; when the 35mm lens is mounted, an additional magnifier slides into place to match, giving 0.6x magnification. The 60mm lens uses a smaller frameline within this magnified view. One of the advantages of the hybrid finder, of course, is that it can project suitable frame lines in the optical finder for a wide range of focal lengths, and critically-accurate composition can always be obtained by switching to the EVF."

At least that's what I think it is.

So that's what all the fuss is about? (For half the NaySayers, anyway). But the H/OVF makes the Fuji so much bigger than the K-01 NoVF body. So if we had the H/OVF, the other half of the NaySayers would say the K-01 is even more too large?

I think I'll ask Adam to change my UserName to NaySayer.

But it weighs 110 grams less, and it's a lot thinner than the K-01. I guess the difference is in the SR system?

And from the registration distance: X mount is 17.7mm, K mount is 45.46mm.

And we'd miss the AF-assist beam using a 7d...and we'd miss small primes. No idea why, but Canikon and Sony are unable or unwilling to build them. At least Nikon had some small primes in their lineup.

But, in general, I think we shouldn't compare the K-01 to other cameras. It's too different to other ones.
Simply compare it to your wishes or have a look at the k-01 pics and vids. Are these the pictures you would like to take? Great, buy it.
But if you look at your own pics and realize they couldn't be done with a k-01:
RANT and hope, Pentax/Ricoh will give you some minor changes with a k-02 or even some additional lines in the firmware.

Let's say we have two similar women, similar in measurements and weight........one is 80 years old and one is Angelina Jolie......one has great eyes(Angelina)..... and one is blind in sunlight.........still having trouble seeing any difference? If so, the lack of an OVF will not affect you in the least!
Regards!

FAIL. There is no earthly woman whose measurements approximate Angelina Jolie.
