One question I do have for you though. My understanding is that the K-01 only has a LV monitor, not an eye level finder. If this is the case
... it is the case, indeed, just to clear that up.
It's been a big point of controversy, in fact.
Quote: do you miss the eye finder, particularly when using longer reach telephoto lenses...say the 50-200 or the 55-300 at the far end of their reach ?
I find difficulty locating a far subject at far telephoto (around 140mm or so) range with my G12.
I do not own a K-mount telephoto, and when I still had my old Minolta SRT-101, I never used the telephoto that came with it (it belonged to my father-in-law.) I'm not a big telephoto user - not at this time. I have an interest in birds and I can see myself getting into bird photography at some point in the future, perhaps, but it hasn't happened yet.
I do own a short telephoto/portrait lens for my Pentacon six TL medium format film camera. It's a Carl Zeiss Jena 2.8/180 Sonnar and boy, that thing is a brick. Even with an eye-level pentaprism viewfinder installed on that camera, I cannot hold it up to my eyes for more than a few seconds. I have to keep it supported on a monopod.
So I guess that's the answer to this one: if/when I wish to use long lenses with this camera, if I find I cannot support them, a monopod will come into play.
