Focus Peaking is Awesome.

Focus peaking could turn me into a EVF believer.

That is all.

Do you mean LCD or are you talking about another brand. K-01 has no EVF.

I bet both of the new DSLRs will have that feature.

Wow, no wonder my K-01 was missing an eyecup, that's intended to be an LCD!

I'm actually not a huge fan of LCD-only these days, I was speaking of a hypothetical EVF.

What's big at Photokina that's coming in 2013?

How is the "K-01 in a DSLR Body" different from a K5? Sincere question.

IMHO the K-01 is closer to a K-r in feature set, button placement and e-dial than a K-5. So a K-r with Prime M engine and Focus Peaking CDAF in LiveView, plus an optical or electronic VF and PDAF for VF focusing is a K-01 in a dSLR body.

A K-5 would have OVF, bigger sensor, TAv on the MODE Dial, 2 E-Dials, different button placement, dedicated AE-L button, etc.

Good. And I hope that DSLR will have no such strange 1 fps DNG mode.

I was thinking of certain individuals who were panicking that the K-01 was the beginning of the end of Pentax DSLRs. :ugh:

Does anyone have Samyang/Rokinon 85mm and K-01, how good is this combination? I wonder how helpful focus peaking is when the lens is at F1.4? Does the focus peaking show actual DOF depending of the current apperture?

Focus Peaking only outlines areas of higher contrast when they are in focus. DOF Preview is possible using the +/- button or by enabling one of the G/R buttons. I have yet to ascertain whether the camera also meters (esp for non-A lenses) when DOF Preview is invoked.

request:
can someone with the k-01 do some other videos that show focus peaking like this possibly with some ultra fast lens (50 1.2 - 85 1.4 - 135 1.8) and even in field (city with moving people and cars etc) to see how accurate and responsive is this feature?

I love manual focus lenses and a feature like this could be the main reason for purchase a k-01 for me
