Possible problem with new K-01

On my second K-01. First one the was missing the lens and the second one might have an even worse problem. The files all seem to be corrupt. I have tried two different cards. Any thing else to check before I call this one a bum camera and try a third one.

This is what I get in lightroom. PS4 says data is missing or corrupt, and Jpgs viewed in windows look like a slide puzzle where the sections are not matched up.

What about in-camera? Did you format the card in the camera also?

What's strange is that the EXIF data seems to be intact (but there's no lens info).

Yeah I formated the the cards both on the computer and in camera. In lightroom and on the computer all thumbnails are OK and the pictures look good in camera.

I had that result when testing SD cards from several class 6 and lower..

try a UHS-1 SD or at min a class 10.
an example of truncation on K-01 with slow memory:

My first reaction would be a card error, but you've tried two cards. I've used Eye-fi cards and Micro SD in an SD adapter, both with no problems.

I guess it could be your camera.

WWWENCH nailed it - Exact problem I was having when viewing in windows. The cards that did not work were an Amazon Basic Class 10 16gb, and a Transcend 8gb Class 10. Threw a Sandisk Extreme Class 10 and was good to go.

Here are my first shots

Again poor documentation ..
As a positive it shows they are developing to the future SD's .. but should at least pre-warn users about the choices made.

Happy it solved ... lovely photos btw..

IMHO -- the K-01 is so fussy about SD that many tests and reviews are flawed because of not using UHS-1. The general feel of this camera is night and day.

Spend a $ more..note the 95

Here's a thread I started asking which cards would work. As you can see I bought the

They are $27.75 at Amazon, not $125, so I got 2.

This chart doesn't include the Toshiba EXCERIA , SanDisk 90 SD's, Panasonic 8GB 90mb/s SDHC vs Transcend 16GB Class 10 SDHC which manage to achieve high speeds by using the latest version of the SD Memory Card standard, 3.0 UHS-I.

Missed this, but great that it works. I also only use SanDisk at the time and removed all other cards from my camerabag.

I have bought a SAMSUNG plus SDHC UHS-I Class 10 Card 48MB/s 32GB and my Pentax K-01 (firmware:1.03) sais :"Memory card error".
This card works fine with Canon EOS1100D, and my old small compact FUJIFILM Finepix Z!
How is it possible?
