Try setting your AE metering to Center Weighted. The multi-point setting makes automatic exposure adjustments that are causing these flickers we are complaining about. I used to have that problem too.
I read this thread before I wrote my reply, and I tried that. It changed nothing for me, it still adjusts the exposure. Also, I have updated my firmware to 1.03.

Ofcourse. changing the metering won't solve the problem.
You should use the suggestion above (Martijns post) to fool the ISO setting with M lenses. it is the only way, unfortunately.

well, on both my k-01's the flickering went away when I set it to center-weighted. everything else should also be on M btw. anyway, maybe its just me.

Yes, that worked, but it's sad that it has to be done that way. You can't get something special set up with full control. Very strange.

I have everything on manual, and the camera still changes the exposure by itself when I adjust the aperture ring. I tried changing the metering from center-weighted to spot, and it's the same on both, no change.

What do you mean by flickering? I can imagine that the exposure is a bit more even since it measures in the center on the same object, but can't imagine iso stays the same when the light changes in a pan e.g.
I'll try it out tonight though.

Guys! Fellow Pentaxians! Anyone and everyone who bought a yellow brick to use M42 and PK adapter with the hopes of having a filming beast machine...
YES, you CAN use the k01 with M42 lens on full Manual mode! Perhaps with any Pentax DSLR.
But, there is a catch though. the M42 lens needs to be wide enough to touch the five electrical ports in the k01 mount AND the M42 aperture pin needs to touch at least one of the two electrical ports inside the camera.
:-) I'll make a video next week to show that this works with the Super Takumar 50/1.4

Anyone noticed that with firmware 1.04 the K01 using M lenses does not override the ISO anymore? or is this old news? or maybe it is just on mine :-)

You're right. This "M42" problem has finally been solved; I still hope Pentax releases firmware 1.05 though.
