Now that's awesome! I'll definitely pick one of these up.

AAA batteries, no LCD screen, made of cardboard (?) .. This is going to be a cult item.

That USB connector is so oddly placed that one can't safely keep it in a jeans pocket

I had a close look at Fujifilm X10 and X100 today. They are so ugly. Like something out of a museum. K-01 may not make everyone happy, but atleast iit doesn't look like something my grandfather used in his day.

Aside from the fact that I think the zoom and SR are going to attract lawsuits. I can't say I like the design at all. I mean look at it.... It's a box! no grip, no smooth lines, nothing. Just a square monumental type thing that were suppose to hold in our hands all day? I mean come on!

Anyways, I agree about the pant pocket issue. Given the design, I don't see why the USB connector couldn't retract into the body of the camera. - then again, that's just me...

Kind of cool, the only bad thing is that people will think of it as disposable and easily trashed when circuit boards of any kind most definitely are not.

This is going to be a huge hit - huge, huge hit. This is the coolest camera of the year. It has nothing to do with ergonomics, picture quality or who designed it. People will absolutely flock to this camera I can see them on Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding Recption tables. In purses and backpacks. Bought for just an outing and MAYBE kept for another use - but probably just thrown away.

Hipsters will ahve thier two weeks with it before they move on to the next thing.

I already emailed my daughter to buy me one as soon as it shows up in her IKEA in New York.

Guess you think Leicas are ugly, too, since they're nearly identical. Personally, I think the design is an elegant classic. Different strokes, I guess...

30-40 years from now, what you consider as nice and beautiful will be considered as ugly in the future.

aesthetic difference doesn't make one camera entirely superior over the other nor the only criteria considered for a camera. if looks is all that matters, I could mention a lot of P&S cameras that are way better than their higher end siblings. are those cameras better?

Heh. For a certain age-slice of Westerners IKEA is Mecca.
