RAW: 3 frames at 6fps

There is one way to get a fast shooting of 3 frames in RAW with the 6 fps (I even think it is faster then this). For this you should use Exposure Bracketing and set image to RAW. With the 1/3th difference in light the RAW can be used very well (if you need it).

The buffer isn't bigger then these 3 images, for as far as I could see, since the slowing down starts very fast.

This is pretty solid evidence suggesting that Pentax just de-tuned the RAW FPS on purpose.

The question is why would they do that?
Might maybe be because of the auto focus?

Well the fact that K-30 does RAW in 2 fps does indicate that that is probably the max speed that is fully supported with PRIME M. The K-01 has a very tiny buffer of three images at max, and I even feel that the third one is maybe a little slowed down already. The K-01 can run RAW+jpg (without lenscorrections) at 1 fps unlimted (with a fast card), so the PRIME M is very capable. When lenscorrections are turned on there is a slow down already with the third image.

For portrait!

So this future is off very well use for me at the time. I use this setting for portraits when I want the freedom to work on RAW files in lightroom. I set my camera to Exposure Bracketing with only 1/3th of a stop difference and make a set of three images f(-1/3th, 0. +1/3th, or even move it upwards with EV correction) so that I end up with three images and there is always one with eyes open and stuff. It is a little anoying that you have to wait for the processing before the screen pops up to get a next shot, but it works very well.
