Is there any project to make an underwater housing for K0-1?

I couldn’t find one. I think K0-1 brick like design and button/dials layout is perfect for making an underwater housing.
Somebody should make kickstater for it.

Problem that the salesnumbers are to low to make it profatable for any company.

It depends on the type of housing; and how far down one need to go. Most of the quality housing from companies such as Aqualite are normally only catered to Canikons; with a few minor exceptions. It also depends on how many controls one wants to access; the type of lens, and also if one expects to be able to actually see the viewscreen.

But it is in fact also fully possible to make one; if one happened to know of a really above averaged metal shop. The only real item that one needs access to is the shutter release. I've seen one made to work with a Leica in such a manner; just the shutter release and nothing else - not even a viewscreen. Unfortunately it also costs in excess to 2k just for the housing.

Well if one does a check on B&H and then enters the search for prices under high to low... Then one will discover that they've made housing or cameras that are presently on the market that are even rarer than a K-01

Also depends on how deep you want to go, making something for snorkelling depth is different then something for diving or deep diving.

Saels number is not the problem. Olympus OM-D EM-5 doesn’t sell like hot pancakes but still got one

You should ask these guys: Nauticam USA - Innovation Underwater - Nauticam USA News

They for a lot of camera's the housing, but not yet for any Pentax camera. Maybe the sales of Pentax gear in USA is not sufficient.

I looked at that thing. It is nice, but expensive. It is for the cheaper J1 camera and not the more advanced V1. Wich makes this a not selling item, since people buy J1 for cheap to use with the one lens it comes. The V1 is for building a system, with flash, adapter to nikon lenses and so on. The battery in the J1 doesn't provide the power to buy such an expensive housing when it leaves you with a dry battery somewhere snorkeling.

Would be great for Pentax to make such a housing. I guess that it would be important to make some descisions before that project. Making a camerahousing and stick with that camerahousing for at least 5 years (like the K-7 -> K-5 -> K-3 series) so people can invest in such an expensive item.

Also Nikon is coming out with quite a number of products for Photokina; including what is already in the press as being a new mirrorless. But it gets better. Rumor has it that Nikon has something which won't quite make date for Photokina.

Anyone remember the Nikonos V ? It is to my understanding that Nikon is working on a screenless (no lcd) version of a digital Nikonos; complete with (very optional) lens'. One of these (a mock up with Nikonos name) was spotted in Italy recently
