K-01 is shutterless right? Meaning it probably lasts twice as long as a DSLR, a DSLR works until the mirror-slapper dies while a K-01 would probably work until the sensor just dies.

LeDave... My understanding is that the K-01 is not shutterless (although very quiet). I was a bit perplexed by this fact, as I would think that FPS could be astronomical without a shutter. Anyone have some technical insight as to why a mechanical shutter was still used?

Same shutter as the K-5? If so, 100,000 actuations as I recall.

K-01 has a shutter; Probably the same one as the K-5, which would mean 100K actuations. What's interesting is the shutter makes TWO round trips for each shot versus one for an SLR since there isn't a mirror (read Adam's extensive review). Because of LiveView the shutter starts in the OPEN position rather than the CLOSED position, so it runs Close, Open, Close, Open.

I guess that means it really is good for 50K then.

So I'm getting more out of my k-01 shooting in jpg hi-framerate. But an interesting question indeed if we get less actuations? I guess that the standard for all Pentax shutters over the last years was 100k actuations and I expect that also from the K-01.
