To those who thought the K-01 was 'ugly'....

I rest my case.

And I think the K-01 is absolutely gorgeous - you can't tell from the pictures - go see one in person; you'll be impressed.

Cheers,
Cameron

That touch screen is going to put the K-01 out of commission pretty quickly, though...those are the kinds of features/innovations that Pentax needs to bring to the table with their mirrorless models in order to stay in the game, IMO.

I own and like the K-01. But, by way of fair comparison, it is not at it's photogenic best with the corresponding 18-55 on it, and the new Canon might look better dressed with the 22 mm pancake.

Neither is what I would call attractive. Boxy, bland, with M&M buttons on the K-01 and no flash on the Canon - pass.

I don't want a touch screen on my camera. It means always reviewing images thru finger prints and crud. Pass.

Thought Canon would do something more innovative than copy a 2 year + old Sony Nex. At least Nikon is trying with their mirrorless. This Canon looks like very little investment to see if it flys. Kind of like the T80 af film camera (FD mount). We know where that ended up when the original Minolta Maxxum hit.
thanks

Exactly my thoughts here. Never liked touchscreen and especially on a camera is a big no-no. Touchscreen may be a thing people who move into interchangeable lenses want, but not a thing for many who already used DSLR's and alike. Seems like Pentax not moving into the touchscreen is showing photographers are more important than boogers, whatever the heck boogers mean.

The Canon looks like a medical camera for colonoscopies perhaps.

Touch screen NO THANKS! I can't stand the iPhone screen when I'm trying to show off photos or the iPad for that matter. Forever cleaning.

I never thought my nose was THAT long... but my screen is always covered in noseprints anyway.
