That's very clever. I recently lent my K-01 with that lens to someone and she immediately lost the cap. Now I have to somehow get a replacement..

Good idea! I lost mine also. B&H photo has them for $9.95. Got two just in case.

Use a jar cap. Make it fit by shaving the inside threads. Works GREAT and costs nothing.

I'm in the market for a new lens cap for my K-01 with the 40mm lens. Not paying the outrageous price for the Pentax one. Does anyone see any issues with the generic 27mm snap on ones that can be found on ebay? I need to buy more than one. I also might try barefootdesign's idea as well.

this is a pretty old thread, I think there were some other threads on this with some clever ideas.
I use a 27mm Masa UV filter as a cap. Even with it on, it doesnt affect IQ in most cases, but I can easily screw it off and put it back on. Its mainly there to take fingerprints and such, for photography I take it off
I think some people use generic pinch caps and are pretty happy with them. Some even use a 27-30,5mm step up ring and a pinch cap, and the step up ring also works as a hood and allows the use of some more filters (its hard to get high quality 27mm filters).
You will probably have to order online. You will get the best price from Chinese stores, but shipping can literally take a couple months.
