Me and my K-01

Well this thread can be filled with portraits from everyone.

I start off with one made of me at Photokina with a PhaseOne 60mp camera at the stand of Docma:

So no need for pictures to be taken with a Pentax camera, as long as your K-01 is in the image.

But possibly could have saved a few k's by getting the Mamiya Credo 80 at about 45k, or even a Hassy H5

Modest start using a 60MP PhaseOne! This is a lot less exotic, but hopefully alright enough to keep this going.

Did you ever have the feeling...

...that you had taken things a Step Too Far?

I mean, I set out to use a lens from a Kodak No.2A Folding Autographic Brownie (Bausch and Lomb Rapid Rectilinear), and that required the macro bellows. The Tele-Wide optical viewfinder was still on the camera from playing around with a 28mm, and it looks cool, so why not? The broomstick grip balanced well and was kind of comfortable... The lens flares like a sailor's trousers, so I made a hood from a 35mm film can, and oh-crap-I-will-get-SHOT-if-I-take-this-out-in-public.

Also, I think I just accidentally created the Steampunk version of Han Solo's Blaster.

That is one fantastic set-up. You are definatly loosing control over "normal" life. I would like to see a link to see an image taken with this set.

Oh, I gave up on "normal" long ago...

I've only gotten to take it out once, and it was getting dark. Even so, flare was an issue. Still, it's possible to get decent results handheld (these are SOotC):

This is the setup without the extra bits:

That looks great and I still have one little project to do with my K-01. But in general it's a lot of work for a picture, but then again I'm not the technical type.

Well, it's about the journey and not the destination, and all that nonsense.

After following the Impossible Lens club thread for some time, I just wanted to try the experience of shooting really, really old glass, without making it too hard on myself. The Kodak Shutter/Lens cost less than a Holga lens!

Making the piece to mount the shutter/lens on the bellows took about an hour and didn't require anything more complex than a no.11 X-acto knife - and I made it harder than necessary because I was in a hurry. I could have just glued the foam core board to the M42-PK adapter, or even taped the shutter to the bellows (but I didn't want tape residue on everything).

It also would have helped if I had cleaned the rear lens element. The front was clean, but after shooting the flowers, I found that that the rear was coated with decades-old grime. That might account for some of the haze.

Well, my K-01 is on a truck to Pentax repair, to see what's wrong with the shutter. No one else seems to have had this problem, so maybe the macro bellows puffed some trash into it or something stupid like that, or maybe it was just bad luck. But is it better to have Bricked and lost, than never to have Bricked at all?
