Downloaded and Battery on charge. Have to say that based on the feedback here I am surprised that the FW Update was released - but very pleased on a number of counts (perhaps the model isn't quite as forgotten as we had been lead to believe.

Will be interested to hear if genuine improvements from this and will report anything I find myself.

I have updated and find that under dim environment in my living room with 3 x halogen lamps:

1. focusing with my DA15....no change maybe...i can't tell.
2. focusing with my DA21 is maybe 10-20% faster.
3. focusing with my DA35 Ltd macro is maybe 50% faster. Less hunting. On low contrast surface it will still zoom in and out before confirming focus but overall it is a lot more zippy than before. I regret that I did not take a video of the AF before update and after update.
3. focusing with my DA70 is maybe 40% faster. Feels more zippy.

Apart from the AF improvement, I have not noticed other changes....not sure.

I hope this is a sign Pentax will keep the k-01 line going... I am buying one soon, wish they had live hdmi out and focus peaking while recording...
hope the k-02 is shaped like a camcorder with k-mount lens and 4k video.

Installed and to my feelings FA31mm is faster. I really don't want to know, because the feeling gives me a good hart, while meassuring makes it only maybe a few %. Good to see the update and maybe nomore corrupted files.

Well that would be nice to have 4k video, but for that you need some pretty faster processor inside.

I won't be able to test until this weekend , but did they fix the Green Button bug with screw-mount lenses, and did they fix the numbering on multiple exposures (it's not a big deal, but it appears that 2 does nothing, 3 merges 2 shots, 4 merges 3 shots, etc.)?

Just updated the firmware and did a very rough before-after comparison with my AF lenses in the low light of my apartment. The FA35 and DA21 were pretty quick before but seem to be even quicker now. The biggest improvement was in the DA18-55 ver 2. It was able to get a focus lock at the long end, which it couldn't do before. The F35-70 also showed a good improvement.

Something that has been fixed is the bug where the magnified live view area would inexplicably be positioned at the top left when you pressed OK with a manual focus lens attached. You would have to press the green button to centre it. It's now positioned in the centre as it should.

All in all, a very useful update.

Good to hear about the F35-70. I just bought one for my K-01, since it was small and inexpensive and had a reputation for being quick to focus. I've only played with it a little, but it does seem to focus pretty quick.
