I bought and sold this camera earlier in the year and have succumbed to another at a good price. I set all my settings but can't get rid of the first two menu pages each time I turn on the camera. I have the start up menu disabled but then I get the language setting followed by the time zone setting and have to press menu twice in order to get the live view screen. Oddly, if I leave the start up menu on then I just have a quick Mark Newson flash followed by the live view. This is much quicker! What am I doing wrong?

Um.. I'm not sure what your problem is. Remove the battery, make sure its charged, put it back in, hit 'reset to factory defaults', disable guide screen, disable startup screen. Maybe go and try firmware update.
