Hot-diggity! That's a smokin' deal. I thought I did well getting the K-01 body for $339.84 new thru Amazon. Congrats on getting those "free" lenses and a great imaging machine for such an incredible price.

Ugh, they're out of stock at adorama. I knew I should have used the credit card instead of waiting to pay with real money

$447 at Adorama for a K-01 w/40mm XS, a 16GB memory card, an extra battery, and a case. Payday cannot get here soon enough!

I was going to hold off and get a K-30, but this price is just too good, and for a camera I'll be more likely to take with me at that.

Amazon has 1 left at $467

I let Adorama back order the 40mm kit, as they claim it will only be ~10 days. However, I keep being tempted to call them up and change my order to the yellow one. Please hurry up and ship so I don't do that!!!

How did you get them to tell you it will be 10 days? I've emailed them twice and posted on their facebook wall, and haven't had a single response.

Ya know, this price point on the K-01 is just *killing* me WRT thinking of getting a used older Pentax. I mean, what's the point of getting a K7 or a K20....when I can get the K-01 for *less* - and know that I'm getting the K-5 sensor, which I have experience with and find fabulous?

Arrgh

I love my Fuji X100, but never intended to stay away from Pentax forever. I'm ready to do some telephoto shooting, and I'm missing auto-interval shooting. Getting the K-01 and an inexpensive tele would compliment my X100 perfectly.

At this price point, I'm willing to give up the extended pro features and a real viewfinder that a used K-5 would give me - cause the used K-5s just aren't going to come down below $650 for quite some time.

*shakes fist* Darn you Pentax and your seductive price reduction!!!! Okay, done ranting LOL

The fact that this creates interval movies on the fly is what stuck a pin in me. I've been too lazy to contemplate stitching jpegs together of any size, and this $340 critter does it for me? Drat, now I cannot help but dabble

All I have to say is *SIGH* if they had priced the K-01 better in the first place maybe more people would have ignored the signature on the bottom.

It really is a fine (if quirky) camera.

Anyone convert the K-01 to IR? Seems like a good host at this price.

Is the stock on hand going to be the last of them? Or will they be this low for some time?

I just stumbled across this widget (after posting, I went looking for an intervalometer) - the Tempus ALL Mechanical Intervalometer. Anyone used this thing? Wonder if it's any good :P

The thing is, it's $150 - at that price, I'd STILL think $330 (ebay) spent on the K-01 much much better money spent.

*further Fist Shake of arrrgh!*

Well, if Adorama can't be bothered to answer two emails and a facebook post, I can't be bothered to give them my money. B&H at least had the stones to tell me they have absolutely no idea when they're getting more stock -- or *if* they're getting more stock. Still might order it from them, if I can't find a deal on it elsewhere.

If this camera would have come out $200 cheaper than the K-30 it would have sold. Mirrorless is supposed to be cheaper than building a DSLR! Pentax almost killed two of their recent camera intros (Q at $800) with crazy pricing.

thanks
